 Glimpsing the Future

 Oct. 20, 2023

Dr. Booth met with Kevin Cain, Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean and Associate Professor of High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine, for a private tour of the temporary facility.

“Forward thinking, innovative, and state of the art,” is how Dr. Booth described the new School of Dental Medicine. This school is unlike any other and will train students for how dentistry will be in our future. The technology here is incredible.”

Dr. Booth was able to try out one of the school’s many SIMtoCARE Dente simulators and was amazed at the haptic feedback. “A student training on SIMtoCARE will experience the actual feel, grip, and weight of a handpiece and then progress quickly in skill and technique. The entire dental curriculum is groundbreaking.”

High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine will enroll its first class in the fall of 2024. Upon completion, the nearly 80,000 square-foot school will be part of HPU’s Innovation Corridor.

We can’t wait to see it!

Future Dentists

   May 24, 2023

Brothers Max (far left) and Matt (middle left) are both on the path to dentistry. Max, a recent graduate of NC State with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, earned his dental assisting degree and will apply to dental school this year. Matt is in his second year at Forsyth Technical Community College with plans to apply to UNC Chapel Hill as a junior followed by dental school after graduation. Both brothers shadowed Dr. Booth while seniors at Bishop McGuinness High School and have been working with Dr. Booth outside of class. Also pictured are Dr. Booth’s wonderful assistant, Sharon (middle right), and amazing hygienist, Chantelle (far right). We’re so thankful for you all, and thank you for the donuts!
