Food Lodged Between Teeth
If you find yourself with a piece of food or debris stuck between your teeth or beneath the edge of a crown and you’re unable to remove it with floss, please call our office for an appointment and we will remove it for you.
What Not to Do!
Never use anything metal to try to dislodge the debris.
Metal can scrape the enamel from your teeth, loosen or damage bonding or filling material, damage your gums and teeth, and introduce bacteria into your mouth from lack of sterilization.
Also, please do not jab a wooden or plastic toothpick into the area. Doing so could cause the pick to break, leaving splinters between your teeth that can damage your gums.
